Have you ever though about the food hygiene rating for your local takeaway? Did you even knew that such thing exists? You can now check takeaways hygiene scores online. We've seen people who have used the same takeaway year after year suddenly changing as soon as they find out that their usual pizza place didn't score very high in the last inspection.

These checks are done by local councils in association with Food Standards Agency. More about the scheme can be found here: https://food.gov.uk/

England, Wales and Northern Ireland run a different scheme from Scotland. The difference is in the rating itself - Scotland uses Pass and Improvement Necessary, while the rest are scoring all food producing establishments with ratings from 0 to 5.
